MSME

Udyam (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) registration is a government initiative in India aimed at providing various benefits and support to small businesses. The registration process is designed to classify and recognize enterprises based on their investment and turnover.

To be eligible for Udyam registration, a business must fall under the definition of a micro, small, or medium enterprise. Here are the criteria based on investment and turnover:

Micro Enterprise:

  • Investment in plant and machinery or equipment should not exceed INR 1 crore (Approx. USD 150,000).
  • Turnover should not exceed INR 5 crore (approx. USD 750,000).

Small Enterprise:

  • Investment in plant & Machinery or Equipment should be more than  INR 1 Crore but should not exceed INR 10 Crore (Approx. USD 1.5 million).
  • Turnover should be more than INR 5 crore but should not exceed INR 50 Crore (Approx. USD 7.5 million).

Medium Enterprise:

  • Investment in plant and machinery or equipment should be more than INR 10 crore but should not exceed INR 50 crore (approx. USD 7.5 million).
  • Turnover should be more than INR 50 crore but should not exceed INR 250 crore (approx. USD 37.5 million).

Udyam registration process-

The Udyam registration process can be done online through the official Udyam Registration portal of udhyam registration. The required information & documents include the following:-

Aadhaar card of the applicant.
PAN card of the business.
Business name, type, and address.
Bank account details.
Information about the activities and products/services of the enterprise. Details of any previous MSME registration or Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM).

Once the registration is complete, the enterprise receives a unique Udyam Registration Number (URN) and an Udyam Registration Certificate. This certificate is valid for the lifetime of the enterprise, and it helps in accessing various benefits provided by the government, such as subsidies, loans, and assistance programs.
